On-Screen Display
On Screen Display (OSD) is a special visual mode of MP3 Manager for Winamp.
It can be started in 2 ways:
- by command in menu Play of MP3 Manager.
- by command line option: MP3MAN32.EXE OSD.
It can be closed in 3 ways:
- as usually... by pressing Alt-F4.
- by double-click on any part of window.
- By command line option: MP3MAN32.EXE OSD. That means, launching OSD for
the first time starts. Launching OSD for the second time closes first instance
of OSD. This is done for controlling OSD from infrared remote for Winamp (http://www.evation.com/irman/)
- pressing button for the first time starts OSD, second time it closes OSD...
like on TV.
OSD features
- Main window is divided into 3 sections:
- Track details - upper (mandatory) section. Fully configurable text
up to 255 characters long. Data to this text are read from ID3+Lyrics3
Tags (including extended fields) and Winamp (filename, bitrate, playtime).
No data are read from database, it must not be even present.
- Lyrics - lower left (optional) section. Lyrics are read from Lyrics3
Tag.
- Images - lower right (optional) section. Image addresses are read
from Lyrics3 Tag.
- All texts/sections are dynamically resized to always fill maximum available
place. For example, if image is not available, lyrics section is spread through
whole lower part of window.
- (Almost) endless configuration variants available on right mouse click.
Keywords and delimiters can be combined in any way. Unneeded delimiters are
automatically removed from result string. All settings are immediately visible
(no "save" button!). Colors/fonts freely configurable.
- Lyrics highlighting/scrolling by timestamps.
- Window can be fully resized and moved - from narrow strip on screen top
or bottom with track details to the full screen display, where all sections
are visible.
- You can run simultaneously OSD and normal MP3 Manager window.
